Absolutely the easiest ARM Micro-Controller to program.

This board is no longer offered for sale.

The EzSBC2 programs without any programmers, special hardware or special cables.  Just plug the EzSBC2 into a modern computer and it appears as a USB disk.  Drag and drop your new binary to the drive and the EzSBC2 programs the file into the 64k of on-chip Flash memory..  press the Reset switch and the new program runs immediately.

The LPC1347 Micro-Controller used on the EzSBC2 has drivers in the ROM for the bootloader through the USB port as a Mass Storage Device.  This makes the EzSBC2 unbrickable.  Pressing the ISP switch while the EzSBC2 is connected to a computer ALWAYS makes it appear as a USB drive.  A user’s program can never destroy the In-Circuit Programming code.

The EzSBC2 is based on the 72MHz LPC1347 Cortex M3 CPU from NXP. The EzSBC2 has 64k of on-chip Flash memory for program storage and 12k or RAM for variables and buffers.  In addition the EzSBC module has 35 I/O pins, a 12-bit Analog to Digital Converter with 8 analog inputs, I2C, SPI and UART serial IO.  The EzSBC2 is the size of a 40 pin DIP IC and includes a reset switch, a In-Circuit Programming switch for easy access to the built in boot loader, a 3.3V LDO allowing the module to be powered directly from the USB cable or any power source from 3.3V to 5.5V.  Addiotnally a dedicated reset generator ensures proper reset signals when the power fluctuates while the USB cable is plugged into the host computer.  Decoupling capacitors ensure clean power to the CPU and prevents mysterious behavior due to excessive power supply noise.  Last but not least there are pull-up resistors for the I2C bus, two LED’s and a SWD connector for serious debugging using external debuggers such as the J-Link, uLink-2 and other standard SWD debuggers.

The ROM contains drivers for USB devices, a Virtual Serial Port, HID and LUFA.
